          How to ensure proper curing of epoxy resin?

          1. Mix resin and hardener 2:1 by volume.

          2. Thoroughly mix for at least 5 minutes, scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing cup.

          3. Ensure all inclusions are dry to avoid soft spots.

          4. Optimal temp is 75-85 °F, avoid working in cold environment.

          What are the causes of bubbles in resin?

          Air bubbles can occur due to incomplete mixing, stirring too fast, cold temperatures, pouring too thick, high moisture in materials, or releasing trapped air. There are some tips to help you avoid bubbles and achieve optimal results.

          Tips to avoid bubbles?

          1. Warm resin before mixing to reduce bubbles.

          2. Mix thoroughly, stir slowly in one direction.

          3. Place mixed resin in hot water at 140 °F or use a vacuum chamber to remove bubbles.

          4. Use a heat gun to eliminate remaining bubbles after pouring.

          How long does it take to fully cure?

          2:1 mix deep pour epoxy resin releases less heat and typically takes 3-7 days to fully cure and reach maximum hardness. Thin or small items require longer curing time, while larger or thicker pours generate more heat and can result in faster curing.

          Can this deep pour epoxy be used for tumblers?

          No, 2:1 resin is best for thicker coatings or castings rather than surface adhesion. Its relatively thin consistency can make it difficult to evenly distribute on the tumbler surface, potentially leading to issues such as fish eyes.
